Cutters Set to Play 10 Games at Home
July 22, 2005 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New Haven County Cutters News Release
The New Haven County Cutters will begin a 10-game homestand in a nine-day stretch Tuesday with a doubleheader against the Can-Am Grays which starts at 5:05 p.m. It will be the first time the Cutters play at Yale Field following the All-Star break.
Tuesday's twin bill is Bill O'Brien Night. Pitcher-of-the-Week Jarrett Stawarz, whose 2.16 ERA is the second lowest in the league, and lefty Rolando Valles will handle the starting pitching responsibilities for New Haven County. Between the two games, the Cutters will honor the longtime New Haven area sportsman for his continuing contributions and efforts towards the athletic community.
Following the three-game series with the Grays, the Cutters play host to the first half North Division champions Quebec Les Capitales for a four-game weekend series. It is the second and final time Quebec will be in town this season.
Each game of the Quebec series will have a different promotion starting with Mardi Gras at the Park/Thirsty Thursday. Latino Night is on Friday, with Diamond in a Haystack along with Cash Chaos on Saturday, followed by the standard Sunday events: Kids Eat Free and Family Fun Day. Diamond in a Haystack will feature female contestants 18 and older competing for a diamond prize.
The homestand comes to a close with another three-game visit from the Grays. Yale Field will be full of young, energetic campers on the final game of that series on August 3, as the Cutters welcome various New Haven area camps to the ballpark for a special 11:05 a.m. start.
