Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas' Homegrowns Reggie Cannon, Jesús Ferreira and Paxton Pomykal have been selected by United States Under-23 Men's National Team head coach Jason Kreis to represent the U.S. at the 2020 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship. The qualifiers will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico from March 20 to April 1.
The United States will play in Group A against Costa Rica on March 20 (6 p.m. CT; FS2, TUDN), Dominican Republic on March 23 (6 p.m. CT; FS1, TUDN) and Mexico on March 26 (10 p.m. CT; FS1, TUDN).
Cannon has one assists in 11 appearances for the Stars and Stripes since his first U.S. Men's National Team call up in October 2018. He made four appearances in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup, including the semifinal win versus Jamaica and the 1-0 loss to Mexico in the final.
Ferreira, 19, played 62 minutes in his senior team debut of the USMNT on Feb. 1, 2020 against Costa Rica. This is the second call up to the U.S. National Team program for Ferreira since becoming a U.S. citizen on Dec. 16, 2019. The Colombian-born striker earned three call-ups in 2019, joining the U.S. U-20s and U-23s, but did not make any appearances.
Pomykal, 20, earns his third call up to the Men's National Team following his senior team debut in the 85th minute of the international friendly match against Uruguay on Sept. 10. Pomykal scored his first goal of the 2020 season in the season opener win for FC Dallas on Feb. 29 against Philadelphia Union.
