February 24, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled goaltender PETER MANNINO from the Chicago Wolves.

MANNINO is currently in the midst of a professional career-high 10-game winning streak and has surrendered more than two goals in a game just twice in his last 15 matchups. The 26-year-old netminder ranks second in the American Hockey League with a 1.97 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage and has accrued an 18-3-0 record in 24 games this season.

The Farmington Hills, Mich., native has held opponents to two or fewer goals in 19 of his 24 appearance between the pipes this year, which includes his first shutout of the season - a 32-save blanking of Grand Rapids - on Jan. 29. He was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Month for February, and was honored as the league's Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 3.

Last year, the University of Denver graduate made his professional debut and backstopped 34 matchups for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, posting a 17-12-2 record, 2.94 goals-against average and .900 save percentage. He also made his National Hockey League debut in three games with the New York Islanders, notching a 1-1-0 record with a 4.52 goals-against average and .870 save percentage, which includes earning his first career NHL victory - in his first NHL start when he turned aside 40 of 42 shots against the Chicago Blackhawks on March 15.

The Wolves are idle until they visit the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena on Friday at 7 p.m.
