Portland Thorns FC News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - Facing a quick turnaround, Portland Thorns FC play host to Sky Blue FC in a midweek match on Wednesday, June 27, at Providence Park; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific). Portland then travels for a road match against Seattle Reign FC on Saturday, June 30, at Memorial Stadium; kickoff is at 7 p.m. (Pacific). Both matches will feature a live web stream available at www.go90.com and on the go90 app.
Recent form
Portland (5-4-4, 19pts) extended its unbeaten streak on the road to six matches (3-0-3) with a 3-1 win against the Houston Dash on June 22. Midfielder Tobin Heath and forward Ana Crnogorcevic each scored in the first half, while forward Christine Sinclair tallied her league-leading seventh goal of the season, and added an assist, in her 100th career NWSL match to help secure the win. Thorns FC return to Portland after posting a mark of 1-0-1 in back-to-back road matches and will play their first home match in over 25 days since squaring off against the North Carolina Courage on May 30.
Against Sky Blue FC
Wednesday's match marks the first of three meetings between Portland and Sky Blue FC this season, and the first of two matches between the two clubs at Providence Park. The two teams split a pair of matches last season, with Thorns FC winning on the road by a score of 2-0 behind a brace from midfielder Lindsey Horan, while Sky Blue FC won at Providence Park by a score of 3-1. Thorns FC have won three of the last four matches between the two clubs.
Against Seattle
Saturday's match marks the second of three meetings during the regular season between Portland and Seattle. Reign FC earned a 3-2 win over Thorns FC in the first meeting between the two sides on May 5 at Providence Park. Defender Emily Sonnett scored her first goal of the campaign in the match, while Horan added the second goal for Portland. The last time these two teams squared off in Seattle, Thorns FC registered a 2-1 win behind a brace from forward Hayley Raso on Aug. 26, 2017.
Scouting Sky Blue FC
Sky Blue FC (0-9-2, 2pts) enters Wednesday's match after a bye week. In its last match on June 16 against the Orlando Pride, Sky Blue FC rallied twice to level the match, but the Pride tallied a late game-winner to earn a 3-2 victory. Sky Blue FC is led by rookie forward Savannah McCaskill, who has tallied three goals in her first nine professional matches. Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan ranks among the top five goalkeepers with 38 saves.
Scouting Reign FC
Seattle (5-3-4, 19pts) travels for a midweek road match against Utah Royals FC on Wednesday. Last weekend, Reign FC suffered a 4-1 defeat at home against the league-leading North Carolina Courage. Seattle has posted a record of 2-1-2 at home this season and post a strong defense that has allowed just 12 goals this season, which ranks as the second-fewest in the NWSL this season. Individually, Reign FC are led by forward Megan Rapinoe, who ranks tied for third in the NWSL with five goals this season.

Thorns FC play host to Utah Royals FC on Friday, July 6, at Providence Park. The July 6 match kicks off at 8 p.m. (Pacific) and features a live web stream available at www.go90.com and on the go90 app.
