Portland Thorns FC News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - On Thursday, Portland Thorns FC defender Rachel Buehler, goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc and forward Christine Sinclair joined the club for training camp at JELD-WEN Field. The trio made their first appearance with the team on Thursday after returning from international duty with the U.S. Women's National Team and Canada Women's National Team last week from trips to Portugal and Cyprus, respectively.

Buehler, a standout defender for the United States, recently earned her 100th international cap with the U.S. Women's National Team, scoring a goal in a 3-0 win against Iceland on March 6 to commemorate her milestone achievement. The former Stanford University defender made her senior national team debut in 2008 and helped guide the United States to its ninth championship in the annual Algarve Cup on March 13 in a 2-0 win against Germany.

Sinclair, the all-time career leader in points (252) and goals (110) for the University of Portland, featured for Canada at the Cyprus Cup, scoring goals in back-to-back matches to help lead Canada to the final against England. LeBlanc, a longtime presence in goal for Canada with 105 international caps, appeared in one match during the tournament, which concluded with a 2-1 loss on March 13 against England.

The arrival of three of Thorns FC's National Team allocation players highlighted the team's second week of preseason training camp.
