Portland Thorns FC News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - Facing a quick turnaround, Portland Thorns FC travel for a midweek road match against Reign FC on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific) with a broadcast available on Yahoo! Sports. Thorns FC then return home to play host to the North Carolina Courage, in a match presented by Oregon Lottery, on Sunday, Aug. 11, at Providence Park. Beginning at 12 noon (Pacific), the match will feature a national broadcast on ESPNEWS.
Road tested
Portland (7-2-6, 27pts) is unbeaten in its last four road matches (2-0-2) entering Wednesday's match, with a record of 4-1-4 away from Providence Park this season. Thorns FC have scored 18 road goals in 2019, which ranks as the most in the league. Since 2016, Thorns FC have recorded 18 wins in away matches - the second-most wins on the road in the league during that span. Additionally, Portland has just five road losses in its last 25 games (12-5-8) away from Providence Park, dating back to the 2017 season.
Sinclair form
Christine Sinclair tallied her team-leading seventh goal of the season in Thorns FC's 1-1 draw against Sky Blue FC on Aug. 3. Her seven goals ranks third in the NWSL this season. Sinclair has scored in four consecutive matches for Portland, a mark tied for the second-longest streak of consecutive games with a goal in club history. Additionally, Sinclair now has 47 career goals and is just three goals away from becoming the second player in league history with 50 career goals.
Against Reign FC, North Carolina
Wednesday's match marks the 21st regular-season meeting between Portland and Reign FC, with the all-time series even at 9-9-3. Reign FC edged Thorns FC in the last meeting by a score of 1-0 on July 5 at Providence Park. On Sunday, Portland and North Carolina square off for the sixth time in regular-season play. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting of the season at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park on June 15 as Midge Purce scored to help Thorns FC secure a point on the road.
Next match
Opening up a three-match homestand, Thorns FC play host to the Washington Spirit on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Providence Park. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), the match will be broadcast on Yahoo! Sports.

Additionally, fans can purchase tickets at the Providence Park box office, which is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Pacific), Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Pacific) and will be closed on Sunday-Tuesday, unless it is a matchday at Providence Park.
