PORTLAND, Ore. - Playing their fourth game in a span of 12 days, Thorns FC recorded a 2-1 win over NJ/NY Gotham FC at Providence Park on Wednesday night. Sophia Smith and Christine Sinclair each tallied a goal in the first half to secure the win. Portland extended its unbeaten streak to eight games (6-0-2) and sits atop the NWSL standings with nine matches remaining in the regular season.

Thorns FC (10-3-2, 32 pts) are unbeaten in their last eight matches (6-0-2), and in their last six games at Providence Park (5-0-1).
