TACOMA, Wash. - In their final match of the 2020 campaign, Portland Thorns FC defeated Cascadia-rival OL Reign 2-1 on the road at Cheney Stadium in NWSL Fall Series action on Saturday night, claiming the 2020 Verizon Community Shield. Christine Sinclair tallied a brace, her third consecutive game with a goal scored, as Thorns FC finished unbeaten in NWSL Fall Series play.
Thorns FC Win $25,000 For Mimi's Fresh Tees
With their win, Thorns FC finished unbeaten in four NWSL Fall Series matches with a 3-0-1 (10pts) record. By finishing with the most points at the end of the Fall Series, Portland's community partner, Mimi's Fresh Tees, will be presented a grant of $25,000, made possible by Verizon. Sinclair Run Of Form
Sinclair recorded her second multi-goal performance of the Fall Series in the win over OL Reign. In two matches against OL Reign, Sinclair tallied five goals. Notably, the Canadian international forward finished the Fall Series with six goals, scoring in three consecutive matches to conclude the campaign.
