Thomas Returns; Pither Assigned; Two Released

TRENTON, N.J. - The Trenton Titans announced the return of defenseman Andy Thomas from Binghamton (AHL), the assignment of forward Luke Pither from Adirondack (AHL) and the releases of forward Anthony Longo and defenseman Vinny Geonnetti. .

Thomas, 26, and a native of Bow, N.H., previously appeared in 24 games with the Titans, recording three assists. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound veteran appeared in two games with Binghamton and nine with Adirondack in a previous AHL opportunity this season

Pither, 21, signed a free-agent entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers in March 2010. He is a 6-foot, 194-pound native of Burketon, Ont., who appeared in 28 games with Adirondack this season, scoring eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) after playing in 67 games with the Phantoms in 2010-11, notching 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists).

In his final season in the Ontario Hockey League, playing for the Barrie Colts in 2009-10, Pither scored 94 points (36 goals, 58 assists) in 67 games.

Longo, 24, appeared in three games with the Titans. He is a 5-foot-9, 200-pound native of Staten Island, N.Y. Geonnetti, 22, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Mount Laurel, N.J., also appeared in three games with the Titans.

The Titans travel to North Charleston, S.C., for a pair of games with the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 Friday and Saturday evenings, then to the Atlanta area for a Sunday afternoon (4:05 p.m.) face-off with the Gwinnett Gladiators, this weekend. They return home to face the Chicago Express at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, a game which will also feature an appearance by Flyers legendary goaltender Bernie Parent.
