
Goaltender Michael Hutchinson Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Michael Hutchinson has been assigned by the Boston Bruins from the Providence Bruins of the AHL to Reading.
Hutchinson (6'3/192) (21), a second year pro from Barrie, Ontario, has compiled a record of 3-8-0 with a 2.62 goals against average and a .915 save percentage in twelve games with the P-Bruins this season. Last year, Hutchinson, a third round pick of the Bruins in 2008, was assigned by Boston from the P-Bruins to Reading twice and compiled a record of 9-5-1-3 with a 2.86 goals against average and a .918 save percentage in eighteen total games with the Royals. In his third game with Reading, Hutchinson registered a thirty-save shutout against the Elmira Jackals on January 9, 2011. In twenty-eight games with Providence last season, Hutchinson went 13-10-1 with a 3.13 goals against average and a .904 save percentage. Prior to turning pro, Hutchinson compiled a 32-12-2 (2.86) (.913) with three shutouts for the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League.
The Royals kick off a six game road trip starting tomorrow (Friday, January 27, 2011 @ 7:35 pm) at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will take on the Wheeling Nailers for the eighth time this year. The game night broadcast on Friday will start at 7:05 pm with the Red Robin Gourmet Burger Pre-Game Warm-up Show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading. Streaming audio is available free of charge courtesy of America One through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. As with all Royals' road games this season, Friday's game will be televised locally in Berks County Pennsylvania on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel and the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
