The defensive battle would continue for the rest of period and the Everblades would go into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

Florida's defense and goaltender Pat Nagle continued to play exceptionally in the second period, shutting down any opportunities the Road Warrior's offense tried to muster.

Florida's offense, on the other hand, found its rhythm scoring two goals. The first coming from Scott Pitt who raced past the defense and scored his 12th goal of the season with a wrist shot from point blank range to make it 2-0. Scott pit would finish the night with a goal and an assist.

Matt Beca added the third goal for the Everblades, when he took a pass from Scott Pitt at the left side circle, and put it in the back of the net with a high wrist shot, giving the Blades a 3-0 lead going into the second intermission.

The Road Warriors refused to go quietly and put up three goals in the third period. The first goal came from Marc-Olivier Vallerand during a Greenville power play. Robinson added the Road Warriors second goal with a fancy hook shot around Nagle.

Greenville pulled their goalie in the last minute of play and took advantage of it as Vallerand added his second goal of the period to tie the game at three with 34 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.

After a scoreless overtime, Vallerand continued his heroics scoring in the fourth round of the shootout to put the Everblades out of reach for the victory. Jason Missiaen earns the win stopping 26 of 29 shots, while Pat Nagle takes the loss stopping 39 of 42 shots.
