Cleveland Force News Release


Cleveland defender Hector Marinaro will look to continue his scoring streak this week as he has scored at least a point in 59 straight games and 88 of the last 89 games. He has also tallied a point in 197 of the last 200 games.

Forward Ato Leone has now appeared in 38 straight games. Leone played in all 36 games for the Harrisburg Heat a year ago.

Goalkeeper Jim Larkin has now recorded a win in his last three regular season games dating back to last season. In those three games, Jim has stopped 42 of 52 shots (.808).

ROAD WARRIORS:

Cleveland has started the season 2-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season as the team has posted its two victories on the road. Last season, Cleveland went 6-12 on the road by recording one win apiece at Dallas, Kansas City, Milwaukee and Philadelphia while the other two were at San Diego. The last time the Cleveland franchise started the season with three straight road games was in the 1989-90 season and the team went 0-3. The Force plays four of its first five games on the road and the last time the team had four of its first five games on the road the team posted a 3-2 record during the 1990-91 season.

BATTLE OF THE UNBEATENS:

The Force and the Milwaukee Wave are the two remaining teams in the MISL without a loss. Cleveland ran its record to 2-0 with a win at San Diego last Friday. Cleveland currently sits atop the Eastern Division a half game ahead of the Philadelphia KiXX. Milwaukee improved its record to 2-0 with a 7-5 win over the Baltimore Blast on October 18. The Wave currently sits atop the Central Division a half game ahead of the St. Louis Steamers.

The last time Cleveland played Milwaukee in the third game of the season and was undefeated was in the 94-95 season and the Crunch defeated the Wave at the Bradley Center by a final score of 11-10.

FIRST LOOK:

The Force will get their first look at the Central Division of the MISL this weekend when the team will take on the Milwaukee Wave in two games. Cleveland thus far has posted two wins versus Western Division opponents.

The Force will also get to face off with a familiar face this weekend when they will play Giuliano Oliviero, who was traded by Cleveland to Milwaukee in the off-season.

Cleveland will not face another Central Division opponent until December 30 when the Force will take on the St. Louis Steamers. Cleveland will play the third and final Central Division team in the Kansas City Comets for the first time on January 17 at Kemper Arena.

Directions to the Force Fitness Indoor Soccer Facility in Warrensville Heights: The facility is located across from Thistledown Race Track on Northfield Road.

>From the West: Take Route 480 East to Northfield Road Exit and take a left on Northfield. The soccer center will be a mile and half down on your right-hand side.

>From the East: Take 480 West to the Miles Road Exit and take a right onto Miles. Proceed to Northfield Road and take a right; the practice center will be a mile down on the right.

FORCE RADIO NETWORK:

Cleveland Force fans will be able to follow the club all season long on the Force Radio Network. All thirty-six regular season games, as well as all playoff games will be aired. The flagship station for Force soccer is Sports Talk 850 AM WKNR. Any preempted broadcasts will be covered by sister station WHK 1220 AM.

FORCE COACH'S SHOW:

Head Coach Andy Schmetzer and a Force player will join host Al Pawlowski every Thursday night from 9:00-10:00 p.m. on Sports Talk 850 WKNR for the Cleveland Force Coach's Show.
