
Third-Period Push Sends Des Moines Past Omaha, 5-2

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers were defeated by the Des Moines Buccaneers by a final score of 5-2 on Thursday night at Ralston Arena.
In the first period, the Lancers capitalized on their first power-play chance. Cam Berg (7:12) put the puck past Roman Durny. Berg was assisted by Barrett Brooks and Grant Anderson on his second goal of the season. The Lancers kept the Buccaneers at bay to keep the 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Buccaneers evened the game late when Reed Lebster (17:38) scored on the power-play. The game stayed tied 1-1 going into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Buccaneers scored three goals in under eight minutes. The Lancers answered back with a goal from Jaxon Nelson (10:46). The Lancers pulled Jack Robbel for the extra attacker, but the Buccaneers capitalized on the empty net. Des Moines topped the Omaha by a final score of 5-2. The Lancers are now 8-15-0-2.
The Lancers return to action on Saturday in Kearney to face off against the Tri-City Storm. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
