Lancers Trade Furry to Storm

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers traded Brendan Furry to the Tri-City Storm on Thursday morning for Blais Richartz and Matt Basgall. The Lancers also traded a Phase I 8th round pick in exchange for a 2019 Phase 2 1st round pick, Phase 1 3rd round pick and a 2020 Phase 2 3rd round pick.

Furry, who was off to a hot start since coming back from an off-season surgery that left him sidelined to start the 2018-19 season, recorded 18 points in 16 games played. The Captain of the squad had 8 goals and 10 assists in his 18 points. Furry, a Toledo, OH native, played for the Lancers last season and totaled 40 points on the year.

Blais Richartz is in his second full USHL season. The forward combined last year for 17 points. The Michigan Tech commit has 8 points in 23 games this season.

Matt Basgall, an affiliate list defenseman, is currently playing for the Chicago Mission U16 squad. Basgall, a Lake Forest, IL native has totaled 6 assists in 8 games played.

The Lancers return to the ice tonight to face off against the Des Moines Buccaneers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 pm and all of the action can be heard on KOIL 1290 AM and seen on HockeyTV.
