Denver "" The Denver Cutthroats hosted the Rapid City Rush at the Denver Coliseum on Saturday, March 1. Denver's netminder John Griggs stopped 35 shots on goal to help his team shut out Rapid City 3-0.

A.J. Gale (Lee Moffie, Garett Bembridge) returned a deflected puck past the shoulder of the Rapid City Rush's netminder Tim Boron for the opening goal of the night.

During the second frame, it was Cutthroats Dan Barczuk (Moffie, Troy Schwab) who lit up the lamp off a one-timer to give Denver a 2-0 lead.

In the final period of play, Cutthroats Vincent Arseneau (Aaron MacKenzie, Sean Zimmerman) solidified the 3-0 victory with a shorthanded shot to an empty net. Saturday was John Griggs inaugural night between the posts for the Denver Cutthroats and first shutout of his Central Hockey League career.

The Denver Cutthroats and Rapid City Rush will face off for the final game in the 2013-14 season series on Sunday, March 2 at the Denver Coliseum. Puck drops at 4:00 PM. For ticket information, visit DenverCutthroats.com or call 866.464.2626.
