
Cutthroats Hand Rush Biggest Loss of Season

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats and Rapid City Rush met at the Denver Coliseum on Sunday, March 2 for the final game in the 2013-14 regular season rivalry series. The Cutthroats came out on top with a 7-1 victory over the Rush.
Troy Schwab (Garett Bembridge, Mikael Tam) found a slot through traffic to score the Cutthroats first goal of the night and close the opening period 1-0 Denver.
Denver Cutthroats Garett Bembridge (J.P. Chabot, A.J. Gale) held his top spot in the Central Hockey League's goals scored column with his 37th of the season. Linemate A.J. Gale (Schwab, Bembridge) gave the Cutthroats a 3-0 lead with a shot to the top shelf. Less than 30 seconds later, Rapid City's Justin Sawyer (Eric Giosa, Jared Brown) fired a shot between Denver's posts to score the lone goal of the game for the Rush. While shorthanded, Vincent Arseneau (Steve Kaunisto) responded with the Cutthroats fourth goal of the night to put the score at 4-1 Denver.
Cutthroats Dan Barczuk (Lee Moffie, Tam) started the scoring assault in the third frame with a breakaway shot that put Denver up 5-1. A.J. Gale (Schwab, Tam) contributed as well with his second goal of the night. Daniel Amesbury (Tam) of the Cutthroats deflected a shot into the net to set the final score 7-1 over the Rapid City Rush.
The Denver Cutthroats will pack the bus and head to Brampton, Ontario to take on the Brampton Beast for a three-game series on Friday, March 7, Sunday, March 9 and Monday, March 10.
