The Generals Lose a Tough One

Kilgore, TX - The Generals scored two runs early but were unable to hang on, falling 3-2 in the series opener against the East Texas Pump Jacks.

Matthew Burks reached on a walk and came around to score the game's first run on a Kyle Danford single.

Burks drove in the General's second run in the second inning, scoring J.B. Moss on a single.

Cable came in to relieve Ellis in the third for the Pump Jacks, tossing six shutout innings.

Drew McLaughlin scored the first Pump Jacks run in the sixth. McLaughlin reached on a hit by pitch, stole second, moved to third on a groundout, and scored on a groundout from James Lear.

Petty tossed another scoreless frame for East Texas in the ninth.

Connor Huesers drove in Lear and Joe Moroney in the ninth on a single to give the Pump Jacks the walk-off win.

The Generals and Pump Jacks will square off tomorrow night at 7:05 in the series finale, before the Generals head to Lafayette for a two game series against the Cane Cutters.
