Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI - The EggMen, a premier Beatles tribute band, are coming to Whataburger Field on Saturday August 25!
They'll perform live from the Goodwill Zone after the Corpus Christi Hooks and San Antonio Missions meet in Texas League Baseball at 6:05 p.m.
The EggMen are presented by the Port of Corpus Christi as part of its 86th birthday celebration. Their performance is the final installment of the Hooks' 2012 Summer Concert Series. Media partners are the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Oldies 93.9 and KIII-TV3.
"These guys put on a fabulous, fun-filled show and we're excited about capping our last Saturday of the regular-season with such a great family act," Hooks president Ken Schrom said. "Their '60s music resonates with people of all ages and the cool, grass of Whataburger Field is perfect for dancing, sitting, or just standing around."
Voted Austin's best cover band nine times in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll, The EggMen originated in 1992. The band is comprised of five musicians and singers: John (guitar/harmonica/vocals), Tommo (psychedelic keyboards/vocals), Nigel (bass/vocals), Basil (guitar/vocals) and Davy (drums/vocals). The band performs live versions of primarily Beatles songs, but The Who, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, The Monkees and The Zombies are saluted as well.
The EggMen carry vintage guitars, amplifiers and drums to every engagement. That practice enables the band to capture the sound, tones and "feel" of the 1960s.
$12 reserved-seat tickets and $6 general admission - good for both baseball and the band - are available at the Whataburger Field box office and through cchooks.com
Reserved-seat pricing increases to $14 on event day.
