San Antonio Missions News Release
San Antonio - Five former San Antonio Missions will be participating in the 2012 Major League All-Star Game on July 10 in Kansas City, MO with a possible sixth awaiting a final vote.
Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre, Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez, Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko and Cubs first baseman Brian LaHair all donned Missions uniforms during their minor league career.
Angeles relief pitcher Ernesto Frieri, who also played in the Alamo City, is one of the final vote candidates and could make it six former Missions depending on an online fan vote that goes through Thursday.
Beltre played in 64 games for San Antonio in 1998 and hit .321 with 13 home runs, 56 RBI and 20 stolen bases before being promoted to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Hernandez, the 2010 American League Cy Young Award Winner, went 5-1 with a 3.30 ERA in 10 starts for the Missions in 2004 while striking out 58 and walking 21 in 57.1 innings pitched.
Jones hit .298 in 63 games for San Antonio during the 2005 season with seven homers, 20 RBI and nine stolen bases.

LaHair hit .293 with 12 doubles, six HR and 30 RBI in 60 games for San Antonio in 2006.
