San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas---The Colts get back on the winning track riding the arm of right-hander Brian Henschel as they thump McAllen 11-1. Colts first baseman Daryl Jones extends his home hitting streak to 19. Vic Ferrante also chimes in some run support for Henschel.
Brian Henschel (4-5, 4.88) gets win number 40 as a member of the Colts, putting in seven innings of work allowing one run off seven hits, walking one and striking out seven. Henschel is also the franchise strikeout leader for the Colts with 325 strikeouts. Henschel is also the Colts all-time win leader. Thunder righty Quinn Bright (1-1, 6.66) would be charged with the loss.
Henschel found run support in fellow pitcher Vic Ferrante (2). Ferrante was 2-3 with two homeruns and drew a walk. Ferrante came to the Colts from Winnipeg to convert from hitter to pitcher. Ferrante has found a steady spot in right field for San Angelo, and has progressed at the plate in every game for the Colts.
Tomorrow night, the Colts look to even the series at two games a piece. Saturday night is team card set giveaway courtesy of Sports Maniac. Gates open at 6:00pm First pitch is at 7:05. After Saturday's game, the Colts hit the road for a 12 game road trip.
