Texas Tycoons News Release

Dallas, TX - The Texas Tycoons behind 22 points and 12 rebounds from Donnie Beacham (6'5''-F-81, college: Texas Arlington) defeat the Monterrey Veneno-Poison 115-113. In front of a near packed house, Texas put on a show for their fans that came out strong to support the team even though the tip-off was scheduled for the same day and time as the Dallas Cowboys playoff game. Tycoon's guard/forward Donnie Beacham led Estonia (former soviet union) in rebounding at the 3 position and he had another great all around performance tonight.

For the Veneno, Fred Hooks (6'6''-F/G, college: Humboldt St.) had a great game as well. Monterrey's power forward was connecting on shots from inside and out en route to 24 points and 10 rebounds. James Moore (6'8''-C-82, college: N.Mexico St.) did his part to the tune of 21 points and 7 rebounds and the newly acquired Michael Ray was extemely quick on both ends contributing with 13 points.

Overall the Tycoons had 6 players in double figures with the aforementioned Beacham's 22, Jerome Rogers (5'10''-G-81, college: N.Texas) had 17, Mario Kinsey (6'2''-G-82, college: Texas Coll.) had 15, Randall Williams (6'8''-C-82, college: Tarleton St.) 14, Tyrone Rayson (6'6''-F-80, college: East Central) 12, and Brandon Lee (6'3''-G, college: Tarleton St.) had 10.

With their 5th consecutive victory coupled with losses by #3 Bellingham (twice) and #4 Miami; the Tycoons are looking to move up in the ABA's power rankings from their current place at #5.
