Aeros hang on to top spot in Power Rankings
January 7, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) released its Power Rankings of the top 24 teams through Saturday, January 6th and once again, the Arkansas Aeros held on to the #1 position followed closely by #2, the Vermont Frost Heaves. It was a week that saw two new teams jump into the top 24, the Sauk Valley Rollers and the Peoria Kings - while five other teams missed be a hair. According to Brad Hester, ABA VP of Team Operations, "Each week it gets tougher because the quality of the teams in the ABA is very good, there is great parity - and it only takes a win or a loss to change completely."
"Of particular note this week," added Hester, " is the excellent play of the Arkansas RiverCatz who moved up 4 spots to #14 and the always tough Rochester RazorSharks who moved up 3 spots to #5. I would not be surprised to see Mississippi, Maywood, Monterrey, Chicago or Cape Cod back into the Top 24. They're all playing well." The Rankings:
1. Arkansas Aeros
2. Vermont Frost Heaves
3. Texas Tycoons
