Texas Legends News Release
Reno, NV - The Texas Legends lost the front end of a weekend double-header in Reno on Saturday night, falling 108-95 to the Reno Bighorns inside the Reno Events Center.
The Legends and Bighorns battled back-and-forth through the first quarter and a half, until Reno went on a 20-2 run midway through the second quarter to take a commanding 19-point lead. Reno would go into halftime on top 64-63.
However, after a Patrick Ewing Jr. bucket for Reno to start the third quarter, the Legends would go on a 22-3 sprint and climb within four points at 69-65. Texas would trail by nine going into the fourth.
Reno seemed to put the game out of reach after they jumped on top of Texas to begin the fourth quarter, running out to a 16-point lead with just under eight minutes to go in the game. The Legends cut the deficit down to eight late in the quarter, but failed to get any closer as the Bighorns hung on for the victory.
Joe Alexander had another strong game with a team-high 24 points and 11 rebounds for his eighth consecutive double-double.
Marcus Landry led the Bighorns with 24 points, while Jeremy Lin added 21.
The loss dropped the Legends to 10-10, as the Bighorns improved to 14-8 on the year.
The Legends will remain in Reno for the weekend finale tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the Reno Events Center. Texas returns home to Frisco on Frdiay as they play host to the Maine Red Claws at HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
Great tickets for all Legends home games are still available by calling (214) 469-0822 or emailing the team at info@TexLegends.com.
