May 4, 2018 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Lancaster Stormers News Release
Joey Terdoslavich homered twice, and Kyle Waldrop tacked on a three-run shot as the Lancaster Barnstormers romped to a 13-5 victory over the York Revolution Friday evening in the home opener at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
The win, Lancaster's fourth straight, was played in front of 6,927.
York struck for an unearned run off Jonathan Albaladejo (1-1) in the top of the first, but the hot-hitting Barnstormers roared back in their half of the inning. Darian Sandford laced a single into center, stole second, took third on a bad throw and rode home on Tyler Bortnick's deep sacrifice fly to right.
Blake Gailen walked, and Terdoslavich unloaded his first blast of the night, a two-run shot off the far side of the Haller picnic tent, for a 3-1 lead. With two outs, Waldrop and Vladimir Frias picked up singles. Both runners would score when a windblown pop up by Anderson De La Rosa landed fair off catcher Luis Cruz' glove.
The Barnstormers continued the assault into the second inning. Sandford, Bortnick and Gailen each roped a single off Mitch Atkins (0-1) to push the lead to 6-1. Terdoslavich followed with a fly ball home run over the deck for a 9-1 margin.
Waldrop added his three-run homer in the fourth, and Gailen produced Lancaster's final run with a ground out in the fifth inning.
Michael Burgess led the York offense with a pair of homers of his own, the first two of the season for the York first baseman.
The series continues on Saturday evening as Nate Reed (0-0) takes the hill against Dominic Severino (0-0). Fireworks will follow the game. Fans may tune into the webcast beginning at 6:15.
