Ten Walks Hurt Braves in 6-2 Loss to Charleston

Rome, GA - The Charleston RiverDogs defeated the Rome Braves on Thursday morning by a score of 6-2 to even the three game series at a game a piece.

Charleston jumped on the board in the second on a bases loaded walk for the 1-0 lead. The RiverDogs added to their lead in the third on run scoring singles by John Murphy and Abiatal Avelino brining the score to 3-0. The Braves rallied in the sixth with an RBI ground out by Jake Schrader and a run scoring single by Victor Reyes to bring the score to 3-2. Charleston added important insurance runs in the eighth and ninth innings for the 6-2 win.

Luis Severino (1-1) gets his first win of the season while Chuck Buchanan (1-3) is charged with the loss. Reyes extended his hitting streak in the sixth to ten games with an RBI single.
