LAKEWOOD, N.J. (May 8, 2014) - Former Charlotte 49ers pitcher Tyler Barnette picked up his first win of the season as the Kannapolis Intimidators battered the BlueClaws for the second straight game, 9-2, at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J., on Thursday night. Kannapolis (18-15) won its fourth straight game and clinched a road series win, outscoring Lakewood 19-4 over the last two games.

Leadoff man Adam Engel added his league-leading 16th stolen base of the season, going 1-6 with an RBI on the night.

Andrew Mitchell worked out of the bullpen for Kannapolis for the first time this season, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings while giving up a hit, walking three and striking out three. Jose Brito also spun 2.0 scoreless innings, striking two and walking two.

Lakewood starter Ranfi Casimiro (1-4) took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits over 4 and 2/3 innings. The BlueClaws bullpen gave up five runs on seven hits over 4 and 1/3 innings.

The Intimidators play for a series sweep at Lakewood on Friday at FirstEnergy Park at 7:05 p.m. Kannapolis is on a 7-day road trip to Lakewood and Hagerstown before returning home to CMC-NorthEast Stadium on Wednesday, May 14.
