Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- The Adirondack Frostbite fell to the Elmira Jackals 2-1 in a shootout in the regular season finale for both teams in front of 3,106 fans on Saturday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Adirondack scored the only goal of the opening period as Hugo Belanger took a centering pass from Sylvain Cloutier, and beat goaltendre Tyson Gajda to the near post for his 31st goal of the season.
Elmira pulled even 2:05 into the second period as Jason Sessa rifled a shot past Kris Tebbs from the left-wing circle for his 22nd.
Both goaltender shined through the rest of the game, as Tebbs finished the night with 33 saves, and Gajda with 35.
Neither team scored in the first two rounds of the shootout, but goals by Sessa and Anthony Blumer in the next two rounds were enough for the Jackals, as Gajda stopped all four Frostbite attempts in the extra session.
