Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release

Bloomington, Illinois - Kris Tebbs wasted little time making his presence felt on the Bloomington PrairieThunder.

The 25-year-old goaltender, who was obtained from Elmira just before the trade deadline ended last week, recorded three victories to help the PrairieThunder to its first three-game winning streak in franchise history.

For his efforts, Tebbs has been selected the United Hockey League Goalie of the Week and PrairieThunder Lone Star Restaurant Player of the Week. This marks the second time that a PrairieThunder goalies has gained UHL honors. Jeff Reynaert earned similar honors in December.

Tebbs allowed only four goals and recorded 95 saves in three games for a .960 save percentage. His biggest save may have come against his former teammates when he stopped a penalty shot with 9:52 remaining in the third period Sunday and the PrairieThunder clinging to a 2-1 lead.

The PrairieThunder returns to action Thursday with a 7:05 p.m. contest against Kalamazoo at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The PrairieThunder also plays at home Friday at 7:05 p.m. against Flint. For tickets, contact the U.S. Cellular box office.
