PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (June 1, 2015) - Logan Taylor made his best start of the season and the St. Lucie Mets cruised past the Fort Myers Miracle 5-1 on Monday night at Tradition Field.

Taylor pitched seven shutout innings and gave up just three singles. He walked three, struck out four and induced an inning-ending double play in the third. He earned his first win.

The Mets completed a three-game sweep of the Miracle. It is their first series sweep this season. They tied their season high with a fourth straight win and they improved to 26-25. It's the first time since May 4 the Mets have been over .500.

L.J. Mazzilli, in his first game since coming off the restricted listed, went 2 for 4. His two-run homer off of Mat Batts in the third inning put the Mets up 2-0.

Dominic Smith smashed two doubles. He now has seven doubles in seven games and 16 total on the season. He was named FSL Player of the Week earlier Monday.

The Mets stayed ahead 2-0 until Stefan Sabol lined a two-out RBI single in the sixth to plate Smith and make it 3-0. After Batts was relieved by Brian Gilbert, Sabol stole second and scored on a bloop single to right by Colton Plaia.

The Mets made it 5-0 in the seventh when Jeff McNeil tripled and later scored on Miakis De La Cruz's second single of the game.

Alex Swim provided the only run for the Miracle with a two-out RBI double against Mike Hepple in the eighth.

Despite scoring five runs and belting out 12 hits, the Mets did strike out 13 times in eight innings.

Batts took the loss for the Miracle. He gave up two earned runs and eight hits in 5.2 innings.

The Mets finished their seven-game home stand with a 5-2 record. They play their next nine games on the road. They will only play five home games the rest of June as Tradition Field gets prepped to host the FSL All Star Game on June 20.

Next up for the Mets is a quick two-game series at the Bradenton Marauders. First pitch on Tuesday at McKechnie Field is 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on www.stluciemets.com.
