Marauders Swept away with 11-Inning Loss

Bradenton, FL - The Jupiter Hammerheads (23-28) swept the Marauders (23-28) in three straight games, taking the series finale 2-1 in 11 innings at McKechnie Field on Monday night. Jupiter's Austin Dean drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly to right field in the 11th inning off RHP Isaac Sanchez (L, 1-1).

The decisive rally started with Yefri Perez reaching on an infield single to the right side. Perez stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch before scoring on Dean's sacrifice fly. Perez finished the game with three stolen bases.

RHP Luis Heredia started the game for Bradenton and struck out three over four innings. Jupiter plated a run in the second off the Bradenton starter on an RBI single by Chris Hoo. RHP Felipe Gonzalez and RHP Clario Perez combined for five scoreless innings and seven strikeouts to keep the Marauders in the game.

Trailing 1-0 in the seventh, 1B Edwin Espinal drew the Marauders even by legging out a two-out infield hit to score 2B Erich Weiss. The Marauders had failed to get a runner past first in the previous six innings.

Jose Adames started and pitched six scoreless innings for Jupiter. Matt Milroy (W, 3-0) pitched the 10th for the win. Tyler Kinley earned the save for the second time in the series.

NOTES: The game began at 6:32 p.m. under cloudy skies, 87 degrees, and wind blowing 10 mph out to center field ... The Marauders are 1-5 in extra-inning games this season ... The Marauders were swept for the first time this year ... At four games, the current losing streak is the longest for Bradenton this season ...
