Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced that as of 9:00 a.m. (ET) today, Adam Taylor, who finalized a two-way contract in September with the NHL's Florida Panthers and their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, has been assigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings.
The 6'1", 200-lb Centre tallied 57 points (19 goals, 38 assists) and earned an ECHL 2006 All-Star appearance last season, which was his pro debut.
"We are proud of Adam's successes and welcome him back to Victoria," said Dan Belisle, Vice-President of Hockey Operations and General Manager. "We are looking forward to supporting him and preparing him in his journey through the AHL and NHL."
In late July 2006, Taylor travelled to Vernon, British Columbia to partake in the reality television series Making the Cut - Last Man Standing, which first aired on September 23 on Global. The series showcases players from across the country competing for a $250,000 endorsement contract and representation from a top National Hockey League (NHL) agent. Episode six airs Sunday, October 15 at 4:30 p.m. (PT) on Global.
Taylor will not be in the line up for tonight's "Annual Blue and White Game", but is scheduled to travel with the Salmon Kings for the preseason series in Idaho. The "Annual Blue and White Game" is open to the public and will start at 7:00 p.m. tonight at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
The Salmon Kings regular season begins on Friday October 20th in Anchorage, AK against the Aces. Their first home game at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre is on Wednesday October 25th against the Idaho Steelheads.
