Topeka Tarantulas News Release
[Topeka, K.S.] - The Topeka Tarantulas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) are going to the Farmer's Market to give back to the community. Staff members and player/assistant coach Troy Mann will appear at the Farmer's Market on Topeka Boulevard and 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS, this Saturday, September 11th.
The Topeka Tarantulas will be on hand from 8 a.m. to Noon to accept donations for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk. In addition, Troy Mann will be signing autographs from 10 a.m. until Noon at the Tarantulas table.
The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk to raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Topeka Tarantulas are participating in the walk in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes and we need your support to help accelerate cures and hope for patients and their families. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over.
If you cannot attend The Farmer's Market and would like to donate visit the Tarantulas website at www.topekatarantulas.com. Simply click The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society logo on the homepage and follow the directions on how you can help donate.
Any question about this event should be directed to Chuck Verdolino, Director of Media and Public Relations of the Topeka Tarantulas. If you would like for the Tarantulas to appear at your school or community function, call the Tarantulas office at (785) 235-9466.
