YESTERDAY'S NEWS: The Tarpons fell, 6-3, in the rubber game at Charlotte Sports Park on Sunday afternoon...RHP Nick Nelson tallied 9K's while holding the Stone Crabs to 1ER in 4.1IP (5H, 1BB)...Kyle Holder (1-for-5, RBI) had an RBI single in the 5th to give Tampa a 2-0 lead...Charlotte scored 4ER off LHP Justin Kamplain (L, 2-1) in 1.2IP (6H, 0BB, 1K)...RHP Matt Frawley (2.0IP, 2H, 1ER, 0BB, 2K) allowed a run in the 7th...Angel Aguilar (2-for-4, 3B, R) tallied his league-leading 6th triple...Ben Ruta (3-for-5, 3B) and Dom Thompson-Williams (2-for-4, R) also had multi-hit games.

STRIKEOUT KINGS: Nick Nelson (9K), Justin Kamplain (1K) and Matt Frawley (2K) combined for 12 strikeouts on Sunday. Tampa pitchers have tallied double-digit strikeouts in 36 games this season, with the Tarpons going 21-15 in such games. Tampa, by far, leads the Florida State League in strikeouts, totaling 774K entering today. That is 82K more than the team ranked second (Clearwater - 692K). Tampa is averaging 9.68 K-per-game and is on pace for 1,355K, which would crush its own FSL single-season strikeout record set last season with 1,215K.

VS. DUNEDIN: Tonight will be the eighth of 15 games scheduled between the Tampa Tarpons and Dunedin Blue Jays. Tampa currently leads the season-series, 5-2, including 3-1 at GMS Field and 2-1 at Dunedin Stadium. In six games against the Blue Jays, Alexander Palma is batting .391 (9-for-23) with 6R, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2HR, 4RBI and 1BB.

BABY BOMBERS: Alexander Palma and Steven Sensley both homered on Saturday, marking the 17th multi-homer game by Tampa this season. The Tarpons are 12-5 in such games. Tampa currently leads the league with 71 home runs, which is 14 more than second on the list (Clearwater - 57HR).

THE REAL DIEHL: Southpaw Phillip Diehl struck out all six batters he faced on Tuesday in a perfect 8th and 9th innings, including big leaguers Jorge Polanco and Miguel Sanó. Diehl then added four more punchouts in a scoreless 2.0IP on Friday. The 23-year-old has now struck out 16 of the last 22 batters he's faced over his last four outings. Diehl leads the Florida State League in K/9.0IP at 13.92 (67K/43.1IP).

2ND-HALF BEGINS: The Tarpons finished with an even 35-35 record at the half way point, falling 4.0GB of the 1st-Half Champion Daytona Tortugas (37-29). Meanwhile, the early postseason spot in the South Division was captured by the Palm Beach Cardinals (39-25). Tampa will look to win its second-straight 2nd-Half North Division title and return to the playoffs for the third-straight season.

FOR STARTERS: RHP Adonis Rosa (7-2-1, 3.99) will make his 10th start (15th appearance) of the season. Last time out, started and allowed a season-high 7ER in 3.0IP (9H, 2BB, 3K, 2HR, 63P/40S) and took the loss vs. Fort Myers on 6/27...is 4-2 with a 4.30 ERA (44.0IP, 49H, 27R/21ER, 14BB, 41K, 5HR, 3HB) in nine starts...is 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA (21.1IP, 21H, 8ER, 5BB, 18K) as a reliever...named a 2018 FSL Mid-Season All-Star...currently is tied for most wins in the FSL.

VS. DUNEDIN: This will be Rosa's second start against the Dunedin Blue Jays. On June 1st, Rosa earned the win at Dunedin Stadium after holding the Blue Jays to 1ER in 5.0IP (5H, 2BB, 4K, 78P/52S).

2017: Pitched primarily for Single-A Charleston, going 4-3 with two saves and a 3.04 ERA (83.0IP, 77H, 35R/28ER, 14BB, 79K, 8HR) in 21 games (eight starts)...was promoted to Single-A Tampa on 8/8 and won all three starts while posting a 4.32 ERA (16.2IP, 15H, 8ER, 4BB, 16K, 1HR)...also made two spot starts for Triple-A Scranton/WB on 6/17-G2 at Buffalo (W, 6.0IP, 6H, 0R, 0BB, 4K) and 7/18-G2 vs. Norfolk (ND, 6.0IP, 3H, 2ER, 1BB, 3K, 1HR)...overall, was 8-3 with two saves and a 3.06 ERA (111.2IP, 101H, 45R/38ER, 19BB, 102K, 10HR) in 26 games (13 starts)...had a 1.64 ERA (44.0IP, 8ER) in 13 outings as a reliever...also tossed 6.0 scoreless relief innings (4H, 0BB, 7K) in Game 1 of the FSL Semifinal Series at Dunedin...following the season, pitched for Cibao of the Dominican Winter League, going 1-1 with a 1.82 ERA (24.2IP, 14H, 6R/5ER, 8BB, 21K, 1HR) in nine games (three starts).
