Bradenton Marauders News Release
TAMPA, Fla. - After the Bradenton Marauders were outscored on Friday night by a 19-2 score, game two of a three game series against the Tampa Tarpons featured significantly less offense for both side, and none for the visitors in a 2-0 loss at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Marauders batters were stifled by Tarpons starter LHP Reiver Sanmartin in his second start with club, with the 20 year old not allowing a run on just three hits without walking a batter and striking out five.
While Bradenton was held off the board all afternoon following a 3 pm start, Tampa got on the board for the first time in the home half of the third inning on a Daniel Barrios solo home run to left, the third baseman's first in over a year of action. The next (and final) offense for the home club was in the fifth inning, a frame that featured two hits with two outs including a Diego Castillo double for the final run scored in the contest.
LHP Domingo Robles turned in a strong outing in his fifth and final start for Bradenton this season but it was the two earned runs that handed him his third loss without a win in limited outings. Robles tossed five full innings and allowed six hits, but walked three batters to his two strikeouts. In a game that featured all left handed pitching for Bradenton, LHP's Ronny Agustin and Jake Brentz tossed zeroes for the final three innings, holding Tampa hitless while striking out a pair of batters each.
The Marauders finish their three game set in Tampa in the final game of the 2018 season on Sunday at 1 pm. RHP Pedro Vasquez toes the rubber for Bradenton in the season finale, and RHP Deivi Garcia puts his 1.27 ERA on the line for rthe home side.
