September 1, 2018 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Charlotte Stone Crabs News Release

After a doubleheader sweep of Florida on Friday, the Stone Crabs find themselves tied for first with Fort Myers entering the final two games of the regular season. Kenny Rosenberg makes the start at 6:05 p.m. tonight against Joey Wentz of Florida.

Coverage of the game begins at 5:50 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network.

STONE CRABS SWEEP FIRE FROGS

The Stone Crabs shut out the Florida Fire Frogs twice Friday, beating them 6-0 and 13-0 while allowing a total of five hits. Brandon Lawson spun his first career shutout in Game 2, while Kevin Padlo homered and had three hits. Now tied with Fort Myers for first, the Stone Crabs need three of the final four outcomes in Port Charlotte and Fort Myers to go their way in order to capture the division title and reach the postseason.

PLAYOFFS ON THE MIND

The Stone Crabs are looking to reach the postseason for the fifth time in ten years. They captured their lone championship in franchise history in 2015, reaching the finals in 2009, 2010 and 2013.

SECOND HALF STUDS

In last night's finale, the Stone Crabs broke the team record for second half victories, improving to 39-28 in the second half. If the Stone Crabs win the final two games and finish 41-28 (.594), they will set the franchise mark for best second half winning percentage (.585, 2013). No matter what, the 2018 team will have the second best overall record of all-time, trailing only the 2010 team which went 80-59 (.576).

HOME SWEET HOME

The Stone Crabs have taken advantage of home field advantage in a big way in 2018, boasting the best home record in the league, primarily due to pitching:
