Talons Look To Secure Playoff Dream With Saturday Night Home Game

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (JUNE 27, 2012) - The division-leading San Antonio Talons are looking to secure a spot in the Arena Football League (AFL) playoffs with a win over the Kansas City Command this Saturday, June 30 at the Alamodome. Saturday night's 7 p.m. matchup will mark the second-to-last home game of the regular season, with the countdown to ArenaBowl XXV on August 10 ticking away.
The Talons (11-3) know that a win this weekend means a potential home playoff game at the Alamodome, and their unrivaled eight game winning streak is causing some playoff fever throughout San Antonio.
"This is a big step toward our ultimate goal," says quarterback Aaron Garcia. "But the first step is to get to the playoffs and then have the opportunity to win a professional football championship for San Antonio," Garcia adds.
Saturday night's game is dedicated to San Antonio's local heroes including police officers and firefighters. Law enforcement and fire personnel with valid ID card can receive a special 25 percent discount on their tickets for the evening. The Police and Fire departments will also bringing some added competition to the dome that evening, as they compete to fill the largest amount of seats in the stadium. The two departments each have a distinct promotional code to receive their 25 percent off tickets; the group that purchases the most amount of seats using their respective promo code will have a donation made in their name to the 100 Club of San Antonio, a non-profit, citizen-based organization which serves the families of fallen law enforcement and fire fighters in San Antonio and Bexar County.

Halftime will also feature a fan-favorite tug-of-war competition between policemen and firefighters, and fans will be entertained with ongoing promotional giveaways from local KISS-FM.
The Talons' Local Heroes Appreciation Game against the Kansas City Command will kick off on Saturday, June 30 at 7 p.m. in the Alamodome, with a free Talons Tailgate beginning at 12 p.m. in parking Lot C.
