"All of us at Keystone Sports and Entertainment as well as Talen Energy Stadium are excited to host the U.S. Men's National Team for this friendly against Bolivia," said Tim McDermott, Chief Business Officer, Philadelphia Union. "It's truly an honor to have the National Team play in your venue, and we look forward to providing the absolute best hospitality for both sides."
This contest represents the third time that the MNT has played at Talen Energy Stadium, following a 0-0 draw on October 12, 2010 vs. Colombia (friendly) and a 1-1 draw (2-3 loss on penalties) on July 25, 2015 vs. Panama (2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Third Place match).
The United States has also visited the Philadelphia area on six other occasions, playing at Lincoln Financial Field five times, most recently this summer for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup Quarterfinal, where the Stars and Stripes won 2-0 against El Salvador (July 19).
Previously, the MNT played additional contests at Lincoln Financial Field in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2016, while also playing at Temple Stadium on September 25, 1968, which was the side's first-ever match in Pennsylvania. Overall, the MNT is 5-2-3 in Pennsylvania, including a 4-1-3 mark in the Greater Philadelphia region.
