
Columbus Crew SC Defender Alex Crognale Set to Go on Loan to United Soccer League Side Orange County SC

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that it has loaned defender Alex Crognale to Orange County SC of the United Soccer League on a game-by-game basis. Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, Crew SC retains the right to recall the player at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
Crognale, a Crew SC Academy product, was signed by Crew SC as a Homegrown Player on December 20, 2016. The defender made 17 regular-season appearances (12 starts) and registered one assist for the Black & Gold in 2017, his rookie year. Prior to joining Crew SC, Crognale made 73 appearances (69 starts) from 2013-2016 for the University Maryland, scoring 11 goals and notching three assists.
Led by Head Coach Oliver Wyss, Orange County SC kicks-off its 2018 USL season this Saturday, March 17 against Phoenix Rising FC in a home contest at Championship Soccer Stadium.
Up next for the Black & Gold is a road contest against the Philadelphia Union this Saturday, March 17 at Talen Energy Stadium (2:00 p.m. ET / CW Columbus, Spectrum Sports*, CD102.5 FM, English and Spanish audio broadcasts available on ColumbusCrewSC.com). *Match will air on Spectrum 314/1314 (505 for Insight customers). On BCSN2, the match will only air on re-play at 7:00 p.m. ET.
