TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (4-2-9, 14 points) defeated Sacramento Republic FC (7-6-2, 27 points) Wednesday evening at Cheney Stadium. Alec Díaz came off the bench in the 59th minute and scored the sole goal of the game in the 71st, his team-leading sixth goal of the season, set up wonderfully by fellow sub Danny Reynolds. Defiance finishes the 2020 USL Championship regular season against Reno 1868 on Saturday, October 3 at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+). Defiance ended Sacramento's 10-match unbeaten streak with this win, and extended its own unbeaten streak to three (2-0-1).
