
T-Birds Name Dusty Imoo Goaltender Coach

Press Release T-BIRDS NAME DUSTY IMOO NEW GOALTENDER COACHImoo joins staff of head coach Steve KonowalchukKent,August 31, 2011 - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell announced the team has named Dusty Imoo as their new goaltender coach.
"Dusty has a great reputation. His work ethic and character as a teammate and player and his personality is a good match to allow him to relate to developing goalies," said Farwell. "Dusty is keen to get started as a coach and we are happy to add him to our coaching staff."
"I am excited to be a part of the T-Birds coaching staff," said Imoo. "I hope my professional experience in net will help in the development the T-Birds goaltending corps."
Imoo played four seasons in the WHL with the New Westminster Bruins, Lethbridge Hurricanes and Regina Pats from 1987 to 1991.
After graduating from the WHL Imoo went on to a 15-year professional career in the IHL, ECHL and Japan.
Imoo played for Team Japan in the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
Imoo replaces former goaltender coach Paul Fricker.
The Thunderbirds have a six-game preseason schedule. They will play two games at the Everett Silvertips preseason tournament at Comcast Arena. The T-Birds play the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, September 2, at 3 p.m. and the Everett Silvertips on Sunday, September 4, at 5 p.m.
The T-Birds travel to Portland to take on the Winterhawks on Friday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Winterhawks Skating Center.
The T-Birds will then travel to Kennewick for two games at the Red Lion Hotels' Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center. On Friday, September 9, the T-Birds will face the Chiefs at 3 p.m. On Saturday, September 10, the T-Birds will play the Silvertips at 11a.m.
The T-Birds travel to Portland to take on the Winterhawks on Friday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Winterhawks Skating Center.
The preseason schedule ends on Saturday, September 17, when the T-Birds host the Silvertips at 7:05 p.m. at ShoWare Center. Single game tickets for the home preseason game will go on sale August 25.
The T-Birds will open the 2011-12 regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at ShoWare Center on Saturday, September 24 at 7:05 p.m.

The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
