Brian Munz and Shane Hnidy Join Winnipeg Jets Broadcast Team

Prince Albert SK- Former play-by-play voice of the Raiders Brian Munz and Prince Albert Raider alumni Shane Hnidy have been announced to the TSN and Sports Radio 1290 play-by-play team of the Winnipeg Jets.

Munz spent four and half seasons as the play-by-play voice of the Raiders from 1999-2004 and will call 56 Jets games for Sports Radio 1290. Prior to becoming the broadcaster of AHL's Manitoba Moose five years ago, the Regina product worked extensively in sports broadcasting on the Edmonton Oilers radio broadcasts and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Melfort Mustangs, Nipawin Hawks and Humboldt Broncos.

Former Prince Albert Raider defenceman Shane Hnidy also joins Sports Radio 1290 as a colour analyst for all Jets games this season. Hnidy played four seasons with the Raiders from 1992-1996 and amassed 132 points in 226 games over the four year span. He was selected in the 7th round, 173rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He is an 11-year veteran who has played 550 NHL games with seven teams and was a member of the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins last season.
