Prince Albert, SK,November 10, 2010 - Luke Lockhart and Colin Jacobs each had a goal and two assists to help lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 5-2 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Lockhart has four goals and two assists in the last two games. He had a hat trick Tuesday night in a 5-4 shootout victory over the Saskatoon Blades. Jacobs has a goal and three assists in the last two games.
Brenden Dillon, Charles Wells and Burke Gallimore each had a goal and an assist in the game.
The T-Birds finish out their six-game road trip through the East Division against the Regina Pats on Friday, November 12, at 5pm and Swift Current Broncos on Saturday, November 13, at 5pm. The T-Birds are currently 2-1-0-1 on the trip.
Jacobs got the T-Birds on the board early in the first period. Lockhart worked the puck from the Seattle zone up to Wells who gained the Prince Albert zone. Wells brought the puck back into the neutral zone and then centered the puck to Jacobs coming off the Seattle bench. Jacobs came into the Raiders zone and from between the tops of the circles put a wrist shot on goal that beat Prince Albert goalie Eric Williams over the glove at 1:35. It was the sixth goal of the year for Jacobs.
Mark McNeill scored for Prince Albert at 7:40 of the first to tie the game 1-1. Justin Maylan and Igor Revenko had the assists.
Prince Albert (6-10-2-2) took a 2-1 lead at 11:42 of the first on a goal by Sebastian Svendsen. Jonathan Parker and Brandon Herrod assisted on the goal.
Wells tied the game 2-2 at 12:28 of the first with an unassisted shorthanded goal. Wells got to a loose puck along the left boards in the neutral zone. Wells came down the left boards and cut towards the goal. Wells carried the puck through the crease and beat Williams low at the right post.
Prince Albert outshot Seattle 12-10 in the first period.
Seattle (8-4-2-3) went in front 3-2 at 8:29 of the second period on a power-play goal by Gallimore. Brenden Dillon and Jacobs had the assists on Gallimore's 10th goal of the year.
Seattle extended the lead to 4-2 at the 10-minute mark of the second on a power-play goal by Dillon. Lockhart sent the puck from the right boards in the Prince Albert zone to Travis Bobbe at the right point. Bobbee crossed the puck to Dillon at the left point. Dillon put a slap shot on goal with Gallimore in front of Williams. Dillon's shot found the top right corner of the net for his first goal of the year.
Lockhart scored the T-Birds third power-play goal of the second at 11:16 to make it a 5-2 Seattle lead. Jacobs sent the puck to Gallimore in the left corner. Lockhart took a pass in the left circle from Gallimore and then beat Williams with a quick shot low to get his 10th goal of the year.
Seattle outshot Prince Albert 10-6 in the second period and led 20-18 in total shots after 40 minutes.
The Raiders outshot the T-Birds 11-8 in the third period and 29-28 in the game.
Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard made 27 saves on 29 shots and his record improves to 8-4-2-3.
Williams stopped 23 of 28 shots and his record is now 3-4-1-1.
