Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release
Colorado Springs, Colo. (Wednesday, September 16, 2015) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC are pushing for a win on Saturday, to ensure home-field advantage in the playoffs and a top spot in the USL's Western Conference.
The Switchbacks will be playing the LA Galaxy II for the last match of the regular season. The match is this Saturday at 7 p.m.
"We're looking for three points on Saturday to keep our momentum going," said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh.
This is the third meeting between these two clubs, with each winning one of the last two matches. Now both teams are fighting for the win to ensure top seeding in the playoffs. If the Switchbacks win, they are guaranteed a spot in the top three, which gives them home-field advantage in the playoffs. "We can only control our game, and while we're watching the other playoff teams, we can't worry or think about their result," said Trittschuh.
Currently, the Switchbacks (14-9-4) are holding the top spot in the USL's Western Conference with 46 points. The Switchbacks also lead the league in penalty kicks, having been awarded 10 so far this season, and converting every one of them.
Again, the Switchbacks' last regular-season match is Saturday, September 19th at 7 p.m. at Sand Creek Stadium.
