Switchbacks FC Win First USL Regular Season Match

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release
Salt Lake City, Utah (Saturday, April 11, 2015) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC put one in the win column this afternoon in Salt Lake City!
From the second the first whistle blew, the Switchbacks put on the pressure and went for the attack.
In the 28th minute, Switchbacks FC's midfielder Mike Seth (12) scored an unassisted goal putting the team on top. That goal was what the team needed to boost their confidence for the rest of the fight.
The momentum stayed with the team as they continued the attack and fought off drives by the Real Monarchs SLC. The Switchbacks' defense was tight and worked hard to keep the line.
There was a scary moment in the 83rd minute when Switchbacks FC Goalkeeper Devala Gorrick (1) collided with Real Monarchs SLC forward Garrett Losee and both hit the pitch hard. They both got up and played on.
With 5 minutes of stoppage time added to the end of the second half, the fight was to keep the win. The Switchbacks FC actually ended the match with only 10 men on the field, after Kareem Smith (17) was hurt and went out of the game and a substitution wasn't allowed on the field in time. But it didn't matter, the Switchbacks FC were successful in warding off the intense pressure by the Real Monarchs SLC.
The Switchbacks FC are finding their groove and look forward to winning even more matches.
"The team is getting better every game, and with a new team that's going to take some time," said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. "What the team worked on in training this week was done to perfection. This is another step forward and will continue week-by-week."
The next match for the Switchbacks FC is once again against the Real Monarchs SLC, this time back at home on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m.
