
Switchbacks FC Retain Midfielder Steven Echevarria for 2024

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Steven Echevarria would be returning for the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval.
"I'm excited for the 2024 season to come around," said Echevarria. "We're committed to our goal of winning a championship and I'm grateful for another opportunity to represent Colorado Springs and the Switchbacks."
Echevarria, 27, is a seasoned player going into his fourth season with the Switchbacks. Throughout the 2023 season, this midfielder played 1,706 minutes, earned three goals, had one assist, and held a passing accuracy of 83.2%.
Echevarria started his soccer career in 2011 when he was signed with the New York Red Bulls Academy. He attended Wake Forest University where he appeared in 79 games, netted seven goals, and had six assists. After college, he played with NYRB II making 19 appearances before signing with the Switchbacks in 2020.
"We are delighted to have Stevie returning. He's been a huge part within the core of the group," said Technical Director & Assistant Coach, James Chambers. "This season he's added goals and continues to work extremely hard to keep developing his game. He is a joy to work with on a daily basis. "
