
Rowdies Transfer JJ Williams to Rhode Island

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla - Today, the Tampa Bay Rowdies announced that the club has agreed to transfer forward JJ Williams to USL Championship expansion side, Rhode Island FC. Per club policy, the terms of the agreement to send Williams to Rhode Island were undisclosed.
Williams appeared in 32 matches for the Rowdies during the 2023 season, recording 12 goals and nine assists. The 25-year-old forward also scored in Tampa Bay's U.S. Open Cup victory over Nona FC.
A total of 12 players are currently under contract for the Rowdies 2024 season, with the club in conversation with more players for a potential return under new head coach Robbie Neilson. Additional roster news is expected to be announced over the next few weeks.
