
Switchbacks FC Retain Jonas Fjeldberg for the 2024 Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Jonas Fjeldberg would be returning for the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval.
"I'm excited to get a full year with this team," said Fjeldberg. "Last year was plagued by injuries and I'm working very hard to get back to where I want to be. Can't wait to play in front of our amazing fans!"
Fjeldberg will be entering his second season with the Switchbacks. In 2023, this striker made a total of 20 appearances, earned one goal, had two assists, and held a passing accuracy of 71.1%.
This Norwegian native attended the University of Dayton and played for their men's soccer team for four seasons earning 22 goals and 21 assists. Fjeldberg started his professional career in 2021 when he was drafted in the MLS SuperDraft by FC Cincinnati. Then in late 2021, he was loaned to Rio Grande Valley FC Toros. Before joining the Switchbacks, Fjeldberg played for Indy Eleven and earned eight goals in 28 appearances.
"Jonas has made a big impact on the team and in the locker room since his arrival mid way through last season," said Technical Director & Assistant Coach, James Chambers. "He has shown moments of real quality in games and we look forward to seeing him produce more of that in 2024. Having Jonas within our organization makes us significantly better."
