Switchbacks FC Release Full Schedule for 2023 Regular Season

Colorado Springs, COLO - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and USL Championship announced today the full schedule of the league for the entirety of the 2023 regular season.

For the first time in the USL Championship's history, matches are evenly balanced across conferences, resulting in every team playing every other team. This means there will be several teams on the Switchbacks' docket this year that will be a first time face-off for the franchise.

The 2023 season has a fairly consistent schedule, with a majority of the home games occurring on Fridays or Saturdays. Two notable exceptions include the team's 4th of July match, which has become something of a tradition for the club. The Switchbacks always host a huge 4th of July Extravaganza, including specialty foods and one of the largest fireworks shows in Southern Colorado.

The new format this year has created an opportunity for some exciting matchups that haven't been seen yet in the USL Championship, like the Switchbacks early April match against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, where they will host and face-off against the East Coast team for the first time in franchise history. The boys in black and blue will have two opportunities to take on division rivals New Mexico United, as they face off at Weidner Field on April 22nd, and then down in NM on June 24th. Looking for some payback? The Switchbacks will be too as they take on the 2021 champs San Antonio FC on home turf September 9th. The Switchbacks take on their final opponent of the regular season, Phoenix Rising FC, in a big home game showdown, and while they'll hopefully have clinched a playoff spot already, the match is sure to have fireworks, both on and off the field.

This year the Switchbacks also have the honor of hosting the USL Summit Showcase, where club presidents and board members all gather for midseason reviews that will culminate in a home match at Weidner Field against FC Tulsa on Thursday August 10th.

The Switchbacks FC begin their preseason training this week and will face their first opponent of 2022, Hartford Athletic, on Saturday March 18th.
