Republic FC Announces Full 2023 USL Championship Schedule

Today, Sacramento Republic FC announced the club's full regular season schedule for the 2023 USL Championship season.

Republic FC's 10th USL Championship campaign will kick off on the road on Saturday, March 11, when the squad travels to Texas to take on El Paso Locomotive. The Indomitable Club will return to Sacramento on March 18 for the 2023 home opener at Heart Health Park, hosting Eastern Conference opponent Charleston Battery for the first time since 2014. The regular season schedule features 34 fixtures - 17 in Sacramento - beginning in March and concluding on October 14 at home against Miami FC. Broadcast partner KXTL-TV/FOX40 will provide coverage for every match on FOX40 and Antenna TV 40.2, as well as streaming on FOX40.com and the FOX40 News Mobile App. More information regarding match start times, 2023 broadcast schedule, preseason friendlies, and the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will be announced in the near future.

In December, USL Championship unveiled the competition format for the 2023 season. With a balanced conference alignment, the league's 24 teams will play each of its conference opponents twice - once at home, once away - and each team from the opposing conference once, with six interconference matches at home and six on the road. This will result in every team in the league facing off for the first time since 2015 when the league first introduced a two-conference format.

Notable home matches include regional rivals Oakland Roots SC on May 20 and Monterey Bay FC on June 17. Reigning USL Championship Cup winner San Antonio FC will visit on June 24, and two matches - July 15 against Memphis 901 FC and July 26 against Phoenix Rising FC - will take place during the California State Fair & Food Festival, with all fans with match tickets receiving complimentary entrance to the fair on matchday. The club also will host five Eastern Conference opponents at Heart Health Park for the first time: Louisville City FC (April 1), Detroit City FC (April 22), Indy Eleven (May 13), Memphis 901 FC (July 15), and Miami FC (October 14).

Some exciting road matches are also in store for the Boys in Old Glory Red. Republic FC heads East to face two opponents for the first time in club history - Hartford Athletic on May 26 and Tampa Bay Rowdies on June 3. The squad will also make the trip to face off with its four California rivals throughout the season - Orange County SC (May 17), San Diego Loyal SC (June 9), Monterey Bay FC (August 5), and Oakland Roots SC (September 2).
