Great Lakes Loons News Release
MIDLAND, Mich. - The Michigan Baseball Foundation (MBF) will be hosting its 7th Annual Swing With the Loons golf tournament, presented by Chemical Bank, on Monday, July 27 at Apple Mountain Golf Course in Freeland.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and will allow participants to enjoy a round of golf with friends and future Major League players. The format is a four-person scramble and each team will be paired with players or coaches from the 2015 Great Lakes Loons baseball team.
The registration fee includes a round of golf, lunch at the turn, a 1/4 zip logo pullover and post-tournament dinner, which includes a reception with prizes and a raffle drawing. The registration form is attached.
Registration is currently open for individuals and foursomes interested in participating. The deadline for signup and payment is Monday, June 29. Numerous sponsorship opportunities are also available at various levels.
Swing With the Loons is a major fundraising event benefiting the Michigan Baseball Foundation. The goal of the tournament is to raise additional funds to support the mission of MBF. For more information, contact Eric Ramseyer at 989-837-6166 or visit Loons.com.
Since its founding in 2006, the Michigan Baseball Foundation has awarded $829,486 in grants to charitable organizations that serve young people throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. To continue its economic and charitable impact and to meet its obligations as a public charity, MBF must raise annual funds from public support. This support will facilitate the long-term maintenance and improvement of Dow Diamond and allow MBF to continue to make positive impacts in the region. Swing With the Loons continues to be MBF's biggest annual fundraiser.
The Michigan Baseball Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and public charity, which was formed in 2006 to generate regional economic development through creative partnerships and grants and to enhance the efforts of regional organizations that serve young people. The Michigan Baseball Foundation owns and operates Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons, the ninth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
